CHILDREN & FAMILY OPPORTUNITIES

Online Opportunities
Every week we have opportunities for our families to connect. We have weekly Family Devotions, Wellness moments, and bedtime stories read by our staff and members of our congregation. We provide a children’s message on our Virtual Worship recordings. We also have virtual fellowship! Contact Katie Pekarek for more information!

Stay Connected

Worship

Children are welcome to join us in worship at any time. We have a special time during worship for a children’s message.

Sunday School

On Sunday mornings during the school year, Sunday School is available for all children and youth, Pre-K through 12th Grade.

Nursery

On Sunday mornings, Nursery Care is available during worship for children infant to age 5. Additionally, Nursery Care is available for meetings and special events throughout the week, when requested at least three days in advance. Whenever the nursery is open, it staffed by at least two Safe Sanctuary trained youth or adults. On Sundays, the nursery will remain open until 15 minutes after the start of service. At that time, if no children arrive, the nursery will close. There is also a Quiet Room available, to the north of the Sanctuary, with a window to see and here the service, for parents looking for a quiet spot to comfort a child.

Mission Opportunities

Throughout the year Longs Peak UMC provides a number of mission opportunities for children and their families to participate in. Our primary ongoing mission is Project Cheerios in support of Colorado Friendship. We repackage unsweetened cereal into individual servings, as part of a weekend food backpack program for hungry kids in Boulder County. Our target is 750 or more per month. We also stock a Little Free Pantry on the church grounds, to address food insecurity in our community.

Wednesday Night Family Devotions

On Wednesday evenings during Advent (December) and Lent (Spring), Longs Peak UMC offers a family time to study and pray together to prepare for Christmas and Easter, respectively.

Children and Family Ministry Council

These committed volunteers answered a call to serve the children and families of our congregation and community so that all may know and experience the love and grace of God through Jesus Christ. The focus of the council (CFMC) is to provide the children a place to nurture their faith and love of God by creating opportunities that connect, encourage, support, nurture and educate children and their families.
