Pastor’s Pen

Greetings LPUMC!

Spring and Easter go hand in hand, with joy and new beginnings! It is with great excitement that I would like to share with you the next phase of reopening the church for worship.  Last fall LPUMC church council approved a set of protocols, as directed by our Annual Conference, to ensure the safety of worship from spreading the Covid-19 virus. A rise in cases this past fall, required us to postpone moving into the “yellow” phase for in-person gatherings.  However, Boulder county cases have been low throughout this spring, so on April 11th there will be a “soft opening” for members of the Church council to test run these safety measures.  Such measures include spaced seating between households, disinfecting surfaces, and wearing of masks.  Permitting that the test-run goes according to plan and Boulder county cases remain low, we will begin offering worship within the sanctuary on April 18th.  Those wishing to join the April 18th service are asked to sign up online, or contact the church office to reserve a spot as seating during this initial re-launch will be limited. For those who are not ready to worship indoors, we will continue to offer recordings of the worship service, available Sunday afternoons.  As we move forward the church is currently working towards live streaming, which will allow you to watch the Sunday morning service from home, live as it happens. This will also offer the opportunity to resume the Sunday morning Zoom fellowship time. However, we are still a few weeks out before we can offer this option.   These are positive steps forward to offer options for personal safety as we slowly return back to normal.  It is my hope that you will find a special, GOD-filled moment during the course of this Holy Week. Be sure to check your email for links to our Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday Services.  I look forward to seeing you in the church parking lot during one of our Easter services on Sunday!

Peace and Blessings,

Rev. Jeremiah
